Formerly Linksys Business Series, now Cisco Small Business Network Storage Systems, the NSS4100 Network Storage System allows companies or workgroups with small-business finances to store data like those with big budgets. With support for up to 15 users, groups can store, back up, share, and archive critical information. Four 250GB hard drives in a preconfigured RAID array come optimized for performance, capacity, and storage needs.

Where entry-level network attached storage (NAS) arrangements maintain operating system software on individual drives, the NSS4100 contains the Linux OS that controls it. This gives the device the flexibility to be reconfigured at any time, even without connected drives. Such architecture makes the NSS4100 ideally suited for growing and evolving companies.

Additional features of the Cisco Network Storage System NSS4100 include:

• A four-drive bay network storage system chassis supporting RAID 0/1/1+Spare/5/5+Spare/10 and file encryption (preconfigured RAID 5)
• Microsoft Distributed File System support and network virtualization of RAID sets across multiple NAS devices (requires at least one NSS6000/6100)
• Dual gigabit LAN interfaces supporting VLANs, QoS, Link Aggregation, and Spanning Tree
