Cisco Adaptive Wireless IPS Software

Comprehensive Wireless Threat Prevention

Maintain a constant awareness of your RF environment to minimize legal liability, protect your brand reputation, and assure regulatory compliance.

Cisco Adaptive Wireless Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) employs network analysis and signature-based techniques to protect against rogue access points and clients, network reconnaissance, eavesdropping, authentication and encryption cracking, man-in-the-middle attacks, wireless DoS attacks, and zero-day unknown attacks. It also provides automated wireless vulnerability and performance monitoring that persistently scans the wireless network to ward off attacks.

Cisco Adaptive Wireless IPS scales to meet the demands of the largest networks. Built into the wireless infrastructure of the Cisco Unified Wireless Network and using the Cisco Aironet Access Points to monitor and feed information back to the WLAN controllers, Wireless Control System, and the centralized analysis and policy manager in the Mobility Services Engine, it delivers visibility and control across the network without the need for additional scanning equipment. The system provides:

  • Dedicated monitoring to detect wireless network anomalies and identify unauthorized access and RF attacks
  • An extensive threat encyclopedia and dedicated research team to provide comprehensive, evolving threat protection
  • Event forensics with the ability to trace, locate, and capture RF events for analysis and reporting

As part of the Self-Defending Network, Cisco Adaptive Wireless IPS can also collaborate with technologies from our wired network security portfolio to create a layered approach to wireless security.
